BIOGRAPHY
David M. Lehr, Esq. is a Ventura DUI defense attorney whose credentials include thirteen years of experience with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and more than five years of private practice in criminal and DUI defense. In his distinguished legal career, Mr. Lehr has represented the State of California and private individuals in thousands of cases involving Ventura DUIs.
A Highly-Effective and Well-Respected California Prosecutor
As a prosecutor, Mr. Lehr developed adept courtroom skills while handling a substantial case load of DUI charges and other criminal matters. Beginning his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in 1993, Mr. Lehr worked his way through the ranks of the prosecutor’s office, culminating with his recognition as the Outstanding Team Prosecutor of 2006. During his prosecutorial career, Mr. Lehr was responsible for successfully bringing ninety-nine jury trials to verdict, and in 2006 alone, he separately resolved more than 1,000 felony cases without going to trial.
From the Prosecutor’s Office to the Defense Table
Nearing the end of his time with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Lehr determined that his skills would be better put to use representing Ventura criminal defendants. Transitioning into private practice as a Ventura DUI attorney, the experience that he gained through his work as a prosecuting attorney provided Mr. Lehr with a unique perspective on the laws and strategies used to bring suspected criminals to justice.
